The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has awarded ‘A’ Grade to Thassim Beevi Abdul Kader College for Women, an autonomous College in Kilakarai near here.

“It is the only autonomous college under the affiliation of Alagappa University to receive the ‘A’ Grade,” Principal S. Sumayaa said in a press release on Tuesday.

She said the NAAC Peer Team had visited the college on September 25 and 26, 2019 for the third cycle of reassessment as per the norms of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and announced the A Grade, a couple of days ago.

“The team assessed the curricular aspects, effectiveness of teaching and learning methodology, innovative and best practices, development in research aspects, health care centres, IQAC and quality circle activities and governing body of the college,” she said.

The team had also interacted with students, parents, alumnae and faculty. The college secured the NAAC’s ‘A’ Grade with the support and coordination of management, college secretary and correspondent, head of the departments, faculty members and non-teaching staff, she said.
