A woman police constable attached to Tallakulam police station has lodged a complaint with the city police on Saturday, stating that she was allegedly deceived of nearly ₹ 2 lakh and sexually abused by three men, including a ‘godman,’ president of a local caste association and an ex-councillor.

The woman, mother of two children, is reportedly fighting a divorce case filed by her husband. Following this, she had got in touch with a caste association president from the same caste she belongs to. The man had allegedly promised to help her reunite with her husband and had demanded ₹1.50 lakh which the woman had given him, the complaint said.

On Friday, the caste association president allegedly called her to a restaurant and introduced her to a ‘godman’ and further demanded ₹50,000. In the complaint, she alleged that the ‘godman’ had applied something on her forehead after which she fainted. On regaining consciousness, she had realised that she was sexually abused.

The Tallakulam police are investigating.
