Water level in Periyar dam stood at 128.85 feet (permissible level is 142 ft.), with an inflow of 762 cusecs and a discharge of 1,650 cusecs. In Vaigai dam, the level was 50.95 ft. (71 ft.), with an inflow of 1,112 cusecs and a discharge of 60 cusecs. Combined storage in Periyar credit was 6,021 mcft.
Rainfall recorded in the 24 hours ending at 6 a.m. on Sunday was (in mm): Kodaikanal 6.4, Periyar dam and Manjalar dam 6 each, Thekkadi 5, Pulipatti 3.4, Shanmuganathi dam 2 and Gudalur 1.4, PWD officials said.
