Voters can use one of the 11 documents

All those who figured in the electoral rolls could exercise their franchise in the April 18 elections even if they did not have Voter ID card (EPIC), District Election Officer and Collector K. Veera Raghava Rao said on Monday.

They could exercise their franchise by producing one of the 11 documents announced by the Election Commission as proof of identity at polling station. The 11 alternative documents are: passport, driving licence, service identity card (issued to employees by central/state/public sector undertakings/public limited companies), passbook (issued by bank and post office with photo), pan card, smart card (issued by RGI under NPR), MNREGA job card, health insurance smart card (issued under the scheme of Ministry of labour), pension document (with photo), official identity card (issued to MPs/MLAs/MLCs) Aadhar card, he said.
