The four adult accused in the Virudhunagar sex scandal case were produced before the court on Monday after a 7-day police custody when they were interrogated by the sleuths of Crime Branch-Criminal Investigation Department.

According to CB-CID sources, the four accused were taken to different scenes of crime where they had sexually abused the 22-year-old Scheduled Caste woman since August 2021.

The investigators also interrogated them and were in the process of getting closed circuit television network footages involving the movement of the accused while committing the crime.

The sleuths have also interrogated the four juveniles involved in the case.

The accused have been booked for rape, under the provisions of Information Technology Act for sharing video clips that were used for threatening her and under the provisions of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
