Two persons, identified as Ranjith Kumar of Jaihindpuram and Sarathkumar (23), were arrested on a charge of possessing two country- made bombs.
When a team of police personnel, led by Alanganallur Inspector Ravindran, was checking vehicles at Sikkandar Chavadi, the two youths, who were on a two-wheeler, suddenly stopped the bike and attempted to flee.
The Inspector caught one of them and the other youth was nabbed by his team.
A check on them revealed that Sarathkumar had two country-made bombs hidden in a cloth bag. He reportedly admitted that he was carrying it to the house of his sister in Anaiyur, just to threaten her over a family dispute. After recording their statement, the police produced them before a Judicial Magistrate.
