Two youth, who were arrested in connection with the murder of DYFI functionary Ashok on June 12, were detained under the Goondas Act on Wednesday on the orders of N. Baskaran, Commissioner of Police, Tirunelveli. An official statement said S. Muthupandi, 27, of Karaiyiruppu and S. Petchiraja, 20, of Chidambara Nagar under Thathanallur police station limits were arrested in connection with the murder of Ashok of Karaiyiruppu. The detention order was served on two at Palayamkottai Central Prison.
