Social activist ‘Traffic’ Ramasamy on Monday filed his petition on the illegal granite mining in Madurai district with the Legal Commissioner, U. Sagayam.

The High-Court-appointed Commissioner had summoned Mr. Ramasamy to depose before him about his knowledge on the granite scam. It may be recalled that it was Mr. Ramasamy who had fought a legal battle in the High Court seeking appointment of Mr. Sagayam as the legal commissioner to enquire into the multi-crore granite scandal in the district.

Later, talking to reporters, Mr. Ramasamy said that he would again approach the High Court seeking a similar enquiry into the theft of natural wealth in other districts like Tirunelveli and Tuticorin. He said the Collector need not conduct a parallel enquiry into the granite scam as the HC-appointed Commissioner was already probing into it.
