Traffic diversion in view of ‘sorasamhaaram’

Police have introduced traffic diversions in and around Tiruchendur in view of the ‘soorasamhaaram’ to be held at Lord Subramaniya Swamy Temple on Saturday.

In a statement, Superintendent of Police Arun Balagopalan said vehicles coming to Thoothukudi from Saattaankulam or Kanniyakumari via East Coast Road should take Alanthalai or Kulasekarapattinam, Udangudi, Paramankurichi, Kaayaamozhi, Gandhipuram and Nallur intersection. Vehicles going to Kanniyakumari or Saattaankulam from Thoothukudi should also use this route. Private light vehicles coming to Tiruchendur from Thoothukudi should park the vehicles at JJ Nagar, Government ITI premises or Shanmugapuram Esakkiamman Temple premises. Thirty mini buses are being operated from JJ Nagar parking lot to reach the temple.

Vehicles coming from Tirunelveli should be parked at Kumarapuram Esakkiamman Temple ground, opposite Govindammal Women’s College, Traders’ Association Ground, Anbu Nagar and near Govindammal College Quarters.

Vehicles from Valliyoor and Saattaankulam should be parked near Food Corporation of India office on Paramankurichi Road, near Paul Ayyar Park and vehicles from Uvari should be parked at Thoppur and Velavan Nagar. Government buses coming from Thoothukudi will reach the bus stand while government buses from Tirunelveli will come to the parking lot in front of Sudalai Temple. Buses coming from Kanniyakumari, Uvari and Saattaankulam will be stationed at Murugamadam Junction.

Those who carry parking passes will be allowed up to Ayyavazhi Temple near Naazhikinaru via Tiruchendur Main Arch, Steel Arch, West Car Street, South Car Street, Amali Nagar Junction and Navvaapazha Salai.

While leaving Tiruchendur, vehicles parked near Ayyavazhi Temple should take Amali Nagar Junction, South Car Street, Murugamadam and the bypass road behind the Government Hospital.
