The 97th Founders’ Day of Tamilnad Mercantile Bank was celebrated at A.S.K.R. Mahal in Thoothukudi on Sunday.
S. Gurumurthy, non-official director of the RBI, and bank Chairman S. Annamalai participated in the event, in which a number of new initiatives were launched by the bank. K.B. Nagendra Murthy, former MD & CEO of the bank, was the guest of honour.
Two link offices, one in Delhi and the other in Vijayawada, an MSME processing centre in Surat and four 24X7 e-lobbies were declared open on the occasion.
The bank also opened 11 jewellery loan shoppes and four new ATM kiosks. One of the oldest branches, located in Sivakasi, shifted to new premises.
Three variants of cards – a multi-currency travel card, International Rupay debit card and contactless debit card – were also launched on the occasion.
A loan disbursement campaign was held at all branches in Thoothukudi, through which 248 beneficiaries were given loans to the tune of ₹ 25 crore, out of the sanctioned amount of ₹65 crore, according to a press release.
K.V. Rama Moorthy, MD and CEO, R. Ravindran, General Manager, Credit Department, and directors of the bank were present.
