Three-day Kamban Vizha

The trustees of Madurai Kamban Kazhagam have planned to conduct a three-day Kamban Vizha at the Vasudara complex, Andalpuram, TPK Road here from May 22 to 24.

The Kamban Kazhagam, which has been conducting weekly classes on the Kamba Ramayanam and also actively involved in disseminating other literary works to the public, has been celebrating Kamban vizha every year.

The trustees, including noted ‘pattimandram’ exponent Solomon Pappiah, Raja, builder Seetharaman, T.K. Subramanian, Purushothaman and among others said that the objective of the Kamban Kazhagam was to disseminate the greatness of Kamban to the masses.

Marking the completion of 12{+t}{+h}anniversary, the trustees have planned to organise a procession displaying the portraits of poet Kamban. It would be flagged off by Fr. Lourdu Raj from Natraj theatre roundabout.

Perambalur Collector Dr. M. Dharesh Ahamed would release a book on “Kamba Vanathil Oru Ula.”

On the second day and third day, discourses and pattimandrams would be staged by noted personalities, including Bharati Baskar, who would speak on “Seethai.”

With a dance drama by Bala Nandakumar’s students and pattimandram on the concluding day by Solomon Pappiah, the festival would conclude, they said.
