Temples receive puja sets

October 04, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:50 am IST - MADURAI:

Representatives from 410 small temples in the district received puja sets as part of the Tamil Nadu State Government’s initiative towards facilitating the conduct of pujas and other ceremonies in small temples across the State.

In an event organised at the Madhanagopalaswamy temple, the representatives from the temples were given puja sets, which contained articles including a brass bell and plates to keep camphor by Minister for Cooperation Sellur K. Raju and Collector L. Subramanian.

Mr. Sellur K. Raju said that the initiative would entitle nearly 10,000 small temples located in small villages across the district to receive the puja sets. “As part of the initiative to conduct ‘Annadhanam’ for the poor, nearly 33 temples in the district are now carrying out poor feeding on a daily basis,” he added.
