January 11, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:49 am IST - MADURAI:

A man was questioned by the police during the inspection of the Sagayam panel at Idayapatti on Saturday after he was found to be behaving in a suspicious way and filming the proceedings on his mobile phone.

He was identified as Sathish, a resident of Usilampatti, who was working as a watchman for a quarry in the area. The police team, which accompanied Mr. Sagayam during the inspection, noticed Sathish videographing the inspection and sending text messages. His mobile phone was confiscated and he was questioned by the police before being let off with a warning. After the incident, the team of officials, videographers and photographers, who were part of the Sagayam’s inspection committee, were asked to wear special ID cards.
