A meeting was convened here on Sunday with representatives of various political parties to review the progress in summary revision of electoral rolls of Thoothukudi district for 2017-18.

Electoral Roll Observer and Commissioner, Disaster Management, Rajendra Rathnoo presided over the programme and after hearing various views, he instructed the participants to adopt the rules and regulations strictly, a statement said.

Collector N. Venkatesh, Commissioner of Thoothukudi Corporation, Alby John Varghese, Thoothukudi Sub Collector Prashanth, Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers participated.

Tirunelveli

In Tirunelveli, Mr. Rathnoo inspected the proceedings of addition and deletion of voters in the electoral roll and also change of address during the second phase of special camps held in some polling booths at Rosemary Matriculation School in VM Chathiram, John’s Higher Secondary School and Sarah Tucker Higher Secondary School in Palayamkottai taluk.

Later he, reviewed the progress in the summary revision of electoral rolls at a meeting chaired by Collector Sandeep Nanduri. During the schedule, he held meeting with representatives of various political parties and issued guidelines to be followed.

District Revenue Officer, Muthuramalingam, Cheranmahadevi Sub Collector, Akash, Tirunelveli Corporation Commissioner (in-charge) Narayanan Nayar, Tirunelveli RDO Mythili, Tenkasi RDO Rajendran and others attended.
