Srikkanth to launch new format Sportstar

Mr. Srikkanth will launch the all-new Sportstar at 5.30 p.m. and share his thoughts about India’s premier sports magazine.

The Hindu will re-launch its sports magazine ‘Sportstar’ at Vishal De Mal here on Wednesday. The chief guest of the function will be K. Srikkanth, former India captain and present Chairman of Selection Committee for Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Sportstar will switch from tabloid to magazine format in its new version.

The programme will start at 5 p.m. with a troupe from American College performing a hip-hop dance.

Mr. Srikkanth will launch the all-new Sportstar at 5.30 p.m. and share his thoughts about India’s premier sports magazine. The former India captain will also interact with the audience through a quiz show. The winners will be awarded a half-yearly subscription of Sportstar.

The event will conclude with game shows hosted by the activity team of Vishal De Mal.

The travel partner for the event is Balika Tours and Travels; venue partner is Vishal De Mal; the other sponsors are Fortune Pandiyan Hotel (hospitality partner); Kalyani Associates (subscription partner); Pothy’s (gift partner); State Bank of India and Central Bank of India.

Madurai-based TCN Channel has been roped in as the channel partner to cover the event for telecast later.

All sports lovers can assemble at the Vishal De Mal by 5 p.m.
