The Queen Mira International School (QMIS), a CBSE school here, has become a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS), The Netherlands, a membership community committed to high quality international education.

According to Sujatha Guptan, Principal, the membership will enable QMIS to submit itself to the process of international accreditation and also gain access to CIS knowledge base; career and recruitment services; professional learning events that will connect students, counsellors and schools with CIS higher education members and nominate students to the annual International Student Award.

QMIS’ application for membership was accepted by the CIS in March 2016 and it was granted recently after review and evaluation at two levels. The school will now be subjected to evaluation on nine domains for international accreditation in a five-year cycle. The emphasis of the accreditation process will be on promoting sustainable development as well as helping the school to evaluate its alignment with global standards.
