Sale of applications for MBBS and BDS courses commence

Issue of Applications for the MBBS and Bachelors of Dental Surgery (BDS) courses began on the Madurai Medical College premises, here on Monday.

Revwathi Kailairajan, Dean of the Madurai Medical College handed over the application forms to the first few students who had queued up in the college.

Students can get the application forms by producing a demand draft for Rs.500 and SC/ST candidates could get forms for free by submitting two attested copies of community certificates.

559 forms sold

Aspirants thronged the college all through the day to procure the forms on the first day itself and 559 forms were sold.

Other than that, 243 forms were procured by students from the SC/ST category.

S.K. Meenakshisundaram, Vice Principal of the Madurai Medical College said that 3,700 forms had been kept ready in the district for distribution and would be available till May 28 on all days except Sundays.

The Madurai Medical College had 155 seats for the incoming batch of which 132 seats fall under the State quota and 23 seats come under the All India quota.
