Russian education fair in city tomorrow

The fair will be held at Hotel Madurai Residency from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Entry is free.

Seven leading Russian government institutions, including medical and engineering universities, are participating in an education fair to be held in the city on Tuesday.

Mikhail J. Gorbatov, vice-consul (cultural), Consulate General of the Russian Federation in south India, said in a release that the fair would be held at Hotel Madurai Residency from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and entry is free.

Aspirants should bring their Plus Two mark sheets/degree certificates and after scrutiny by officials at the fair, on-the-spot admission would be given for bachelor and postgraduate degree programmes.

The fair, 16{+t}{+h}edition, was organised in association with Study Abroad, the authorised Indian representative for Russian universities. Applicants should possess a minimum of 50 per cent marks in the relevant core subjects/degrees and those belonging to SC/ST and OBC categories would have concession. Tamil medium students were eligible to apply. The fee structure varied from one university to another and 63 government medical universities in Russia had been recognised by the Medical Council of India.
