Raid at taluk supply office

In a joint raid, sleuths of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption and Inspection Cell, Madurai, conducted a search at the Andipatti Taluk Supply Office, on Saturday.

The DVAC acted on a tip off that bribe was allegedly taken from salesmen of fair price shops during month-end when the essential commodities were supplied. In the raid, the sleuths recovered unaccounted cash of about ₹1 lakh Two staffs identified as Special Revenue Inspector Vijayakumar and Taluk Supply Officer (In-charge) Karthik have been taken for investigation. “The money recovered will be paid at the treasury and a case will be filed. Further action will be taken as per the direction of the court,” said P. Sundararajan, inspector, Vigilance and Anti Corruption, Theni.
