This is a shout out to all foodies and aspiring chefs in the city -- put your culinary skills to test at a fun competition that will give away the Master Chef title to three top submissions. The Sindhi Council of India Madurai ladies Chapter is hosting MLC Master Chef-2018 cooking competition on October 20. Anybody above 18 years is eligible to participate. The theme is healthy breakfast.
All you have to do is to use the nutritious ingredients at home and innovate a new breakfast recipe that constitutes health food. Each contestant needs to prepare three items to make the breakfast wholesome. “A nutritious breakfast is the right way to start your day,” says Madhu Rajani, the chapter president, “so we thought of this theme also to encourage people to think about healthy eating.”
Contestants are required to prepare fresh the items of their choice at home and bring the pre-cooked food to Hotel J C Residency next Saturday at 11 am. They will be given 30 minutes to lay out their presentation followig which a panel of judges consisting of a dietician, a fitness trainer and a chef will go around tasting the items to decide the winners.
To participate, you first need to register for a fee of Rs.200. Last date for registration is October 19 till 5 pm. The registration counters are open at Rachna’s beauty parlour and Youforia dance school, K K Nagar and Shadows boutique, Chinna Chokkikulam. Depending on availability of space, there could be a few on-the-spot registrations as well.
The team of chefs at J C Residency will give a live cooking demo of healthy snacks to keep the contestatnts engaged till the results. There will be a lucky dip and games too for entertainment. Besides the main three and consolation prize winners, every participant will also return home with surprise gifts.
