A total of 676 units collected by blood bank, GRH

MADURAI

Blood donation camps for police personnel were held on the Armed Reserve campus and Mariamman Temple mandapam at Reservelines here on Friday where 676 police personnel donated blood.

The city police donated 84 units, the Armed Reserve 113 units and the sixth batallion donated 479 units of blood.

“The blood donation is to create awareness among the public and encourage them to donate blood. This is one gesture through which lives can be saved,” said a police inspector attached to Armed Reserve.

Top officials, including Inspector General of Police, South Zone, K.P. Shanmuga Rajeswaran, visited the camps. K. Vanitha, Dean, Madurai Medical College and M. Sintha, Blood Bank in-charge, were present.
