MADURAI

A public interest litigation petition filed before the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Wednesday sought a direction to the State government to set up state-of-the art control rooms in each district.

The petitioner, K. K. Ramesh of Madurai, said with an increase in crime rate, it was essential to set up modern control rooms. A Division Bench of Justices N. Kirubakaran and S. S. Sundar, noting the plight of policemen and work pressure faced by them, said that they would pass a detailed order in the case.
