New DIG assumes office

Praveen Kumar Abinapu, a 2005 batch IPS officer, assumed office as the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Tirunelveli range, on Sunday.

He was previously serving as Superintendent of Police, Crime Branch CID-II.

His predecessor, Kapil Kumar Saratkar, was posted as Joint Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, Chennai (North).

Addressing reporters, Mr. Praveen said that he would study the various issues faced by the people in Tirunelveli range, and how to handle them over the next few months.
