Meet on e-voting

A seminar on e-voting under Companies Act, 2013, was organised by Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI)-Madurai Chapter here on Friday.

According to a press release, Chairman V. Vijayaraghavan, who delivered the inaugural address, said that it was mandatory for listed companies as well as firms having not less than 1,000 shareholders to provide for e-voting. A.R. Vasudevan, Regional Manager, Central Depository Services Limited (CDSL), Chennai, explained the features of e-voting. He spoke about safety of CDSL system in maintaining confidentiality, the release said.
