Accused creates flutter in court

A. Satish Kumar, 28, of Alipacheri near Pasuvanthanai, who was arrested for a conflict with private windmill companies, cut his wrist on the court premises here on Thursday.

He was arrested based on a complaint filed by the manager of a private windmill company on November 29. The Pasuvanthanai police arrested him on Thursday and brought him before Judicial Magistrate-II for remand. Satish reportedly asked nod to use the rest room where he slit his wrist using a broken bottle.

Appearing before the court, he alleged that the police had caused the injury. He was then taken to the Government Hospital and was produced before the court once again when he was given judicial custody for 15 days. Based on a medical report, a case was registered against him.
