Cadre who work loyally and tirelessly for the welfare of the AIADMK will have a bright future in the organisation, as it is the only democratic political party in the State that has never believed in “family-centric politics”, Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami said on Sunday.

Welcoming over 1,000 people from various political parties who switched to the AIADMK, Mr. Palaniswami claimed that the ruling party, founded by M.G. Ramachandran and fortified by Jayalalithaa, never encouraged the use of politics for the benefit of a particular family, unlike the DMK.

“If you work here loyally and tirelessly for the welfare of the party, you will have a bright future. Even an ordinary cadre who is loyal to the AIADMK can get into higher positions, which is unimaginable in any other political party in the country,” Mr. Palaniswami said.

Taking a dig at the Opposition parties, particularly the DMK, the Chief Minister said they were predicting and dreaming about the toppling of his government after the demise of former CM Jayalalithaa.

“Since we are providing an able administration by taking care of the people, particularly the poor, the government is going to complete [the remaining] two years. We appeal to the people of Tamil Nadu to extend their support [to us] in the days to come,” he said.
