Laptops stolen

Eleven laptops, meant for free distribution to students, were stolen from a government school near Alanganallur on Friday.

Police said that 80 laptops were kept at an office room next to the Headmaster’s chamber in the Government Higher Secondary School at Kondaiyampatti. The incident occurred after the staff had locked the school on Thursday night.

The burglary was noticed on Friday morning. Unidentified culprits had broken open a lock in the grille gate and the lock of a wooden door. Based on a complaint lodged by Headmaster S. Murugan, Alanganallur police have registered a case.
