‘Lack of facilities at railway station’

MADURAI

A public interest litigation petition filed before the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Wednesday complained about lack of basic amenities and security at Koodal Nagar railway station here.

The petitioner, A.V. Saha of Madurai, complained about lack of adequate drinking water and toilet facilities at the railway station. He also complained about lack of bus facilities to the station.

Lack of street lights around the station and growth of wild bushes posed a threat to commuters, he said, and sought a direction to the authorities concerned to look into these issues.

A Division Bench of Justices K.K. Sasidharan and P.D. Audikesavalu directed notice to the railway authorities and adjourned the case for further hearing.
