MADURAI

The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Tuesday granted anticipatory bail to actor and MLA Karunas in a case pertaining to an altercation at Poolithevan memorial in Tirunelveli district in 2017.

Justice G.K. Ilanthiraiyan granted anticipatory bail to Mr. Karunas after it was established that no charge sheet was filed against him even after a lapse of one year. Mr. Karunas, in his petition, denied having an altercation with Subbaiah Pandian, who had lodged a complaint. Subbiah Pandian had filed a complaint with Puliangudi police claiming that following a wordy duel followers of Karunas damaged his vehicle.
