The city police on Friday booked Inspector of Police S. Vairam on a rape charge. Police sources said that the All Women Police Station, Tallakulam, has booked him under Indian Penal Code 376c (rape by an authority taking advantage of his official position) and under the provisions of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act.
