MADURAI

Small and medium scale entrepreneurs from South Tamil Nadu will be exposed to technical and mechanical upgrading in a variety of industries at the fourth edition of Indexpo between December 20 and 23, here at Ida Scudder Hall.

Madurai District Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association (MADITSSIA), along with the support of other organisations, including MSME Development Institute, National Small Industries Corporation Limited and Small Industries Development Bank of India.

K.P. Murugan, president, MADITSSIA, said 200 stalls would display general engineering products, fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics, machine tools, agricultural, rubber, plastic and chemical products for several industries.

“This multi-sector meet will help in bringing to light the latest innovations in various sectors. Without exhibitions, people in South Tamil Nadu rarely know about the technologies used by contemporaries in other parts of the world,” he said.

A total of 60 off the 200 stalls will be displayed by Madurai-based industrialists. The expo will also shed light on alternative power sources such as solar energy and wind energy. A separate bay for electrical products will be created as a special focus.

B. Muruganandham, secretary, MADITSSIA, said that more such exhibitions with futuristic vision would be held to educate the public and encourage budding entrepreneurs. School students are expected to visit the expo to understand the working of industries.
