Former State Minister in the Jayalalithaa government R.T. Inbathamilan is back in the AIADMK fold. He rejoined the party for the second time in Chennai on Tuesday in the presence of Chief Minister and party co-coordinator Edappadi K. Palaniswami, after quitting T.T.V. Dhinakaran-led Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam.
Minister for Dairy Development K.T. Rajenthra Bhalaji and MLAs M.S.R. Rajavaraman (Sattur) and M. Chandra Prabha (Srivilliputtur) were present on the occasion.
Mr. Inbathamilan was pitted by the AIADMK against his father R. Tamaraikani, a five-time MLA representing Srivilliputtur Assembly constituency, after the latter fell out with Jayalalithaa, and he defeated the veteran politician in the same constituency in 2001. He was subsequently made Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare.
Later, after AIADMK’s rout in the 2006 Assembly election, he joined the DMK and again came back to AIADMK fold three years later.
He was till recently with the AMMK as its Virudhunagar East district secretary and was actively campaigning for party candidate for Lok Sabha constituency S. Paramasiva Ayyappan.
