The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court was informed on Wednesday that former AIADMK MLA K. Tamilarasan was clandestinely continuing to use the premises as well as the official car of the Madurai District Cooperative Milk Producers Union.

The court had earlier restrained him from continuing as the Chairman of the Milk Union after it was argued that he was appointed and not elected.

Taking cognisance of the submission, a Division of Justices T.S. Sivagnanam and R. Tharani observed that the order of the court should be respected, if not contempt could be initiated. The court was hearing the petition filed by P. Periya Karuppan who sought a direction to the State to conduct an election to the post of Chairman to the Madurai District Cooperative Milk Producers Union.

The court directed the petition be tagged along with the other petitions, that had challenged the appointments of K. Tamilarasan and O. Raja, brother of Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam as Chairmen to Madurai and Theni Milk Unions, respectively. The court had also restrained O. Raja from continuing as the Chairman of the Theni District Cooperative Milk Producers Union. Earlier, the court had directed the parties concerned to file their counter affidavits in the cases.
