HC restraint on college secretary

MADURAI A Division Bench of Justices N. Kirubakaran and S. S. Sundar of the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Wednesday restrained the secretary and correspondent (in-charge) of MSS Wakf Board College here, N. Jamal Mohaideen, from discharging his duty.

The court had already stayed a resolution passed at a meeting of the college governing body, in which Mr. Mohaideen was present. The resolution had nullified his removal as secretary.

The petitioner, T. S. Ahamed Ibrahim of Madurai, a governing body member, alleged that Mr. Mohaideen had nullified the resolution against him.

Based on the recommendation of Tamil Nadu Waqf Board Chairman A. Anwar Raja, Mr. Mohaideen was nominated correspondent and secretary (in-charge) until reconstitution of the college board. When his removal was mooted, he passed a resolution in his favour.

The High Court Bench had earlier ordered a CBI probe into the allegation of a multi-crore recruitment scam at the college that allegedly involved Mr. Mohaideen, Mr. Anwar Raja and Labour and Employment Minister Nilofer Kafeel.
