The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Monday closed a public interest litigation petition that challenged a notification issued by Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited for recruitment under ‘C’ and ‘D’ categories.
A Division Bench of Justices T.S. Sivagnanam and R. Tharani observed that a service matter was filed in the name of a public interest litigation petition. Therefore, the petition could not be entertained, the court said and closed the petition.
The petitioner, M. Appavu, a former MLA, had sought a direction to recruit local residents.
