Airliners offer special fares till July 31

With a variety of attractions, Singapore Tourism Board is now focussing on luring tourists from Tier II cities in Tamil Nadu to the island country.

After reaching a milestone of one million tourists from India in 2015, Singapore continues to be a favourite tourist destination for Indians. Around 1.44 million Indians visited the country in 2018 with its promotion “Passion Made Possible”.

Besides tourists from metros, Singapore has also seen a rise in the number of visitors from Tier II cities in India.

“We are looking at foodies, explorers, shoppers and action seekers with our adventure sport and cruise to enjoy their stay in Singapore,” said its Regional Director, India, Middle East, South Asia, G.B. Srithar.

Its Area Director, India and South Asia-Mumbai, Adrian Kong, says Singapore is a popular destination because of its proximity and direct air connectivity from 15 cities of India. “Indians having valid visa for select eight countries can enjoy and stay for four days in Singapore with 96-hours visa free transit facility.”

Among the new attractions, Mr. Adrian points to Jewel Changi Airport next to Changi Airport that offersnature-themed entertainment and a host of shopping opportunities. It also has the world’s tallest indoor waterfalls.

The facilities will help tourists to spend qualitywith family members waiting on arrival till noon for check-in at hotels and check-outs later.

Also, Universal Studios and Marina Bay Sands have new attractions for tourists.

During the promotional period of July 8-31, airliners such as Singapore Airlines, Silk Air and Scoot have announced special fares for Indian travellers, Mr. Adrian said.
