Four women lose chains across Madurai

Chain snatchers had a field day on Sunday as four women lost their jewels in various parts of the city.

Two of the incidents were reported under Koodal Pudur police station, in the same neighbourhood of Malar Nagar, Selva Garden in Anaiyur. As both incidents occurred within a span of 10 minutes, police suspect the handiwork of the same two-wheeler-borne duo. One Hemalatha lost her half-a- sovereign gold chain and one Sujatha was relieved of her three-sovereign chain in this area.

Under Tirupparankundram police station limits, Selvamary was relieved of her 2.75-sovereign chain on Vilachery Main Road around 8.15 pm.

In the last incident, reported around 9.40 p.m. under Thilagar Thidal (Crime) police station limits, Nagajothi lost her 2.75 sovereign chain at Thirumalairayar Padithurai.
