A cylinder delivery man, G. Selvraj (43) , sustained serious burn injuries in an accidental fire caused when tried to setright a technical fault in a newly-delivered cooking gas cylinder at Mamsapuram on Sunday.
The police said that P. Baskaran, had complained about the faulty cylinder that was delivered a couple of days back. Selvaraj tried to repair it when a gas leak led to fire.
He sustained burns on his face and chest. He was admitted to the Government Hospital in Sivakasi.
While Baskaran and his wife, Lakshmi (45) were treated as outpatients, Baskaran’s cousins, Ammaiyappan and Murugan sustained head injuries and were admitted to the Government Hospital in Rajapalayam.
