Electrician killed in road accident

An electrician Abdul Rahman (30) of Sellur died in a road accident at Perungudi near the airport when a speeding TNSTC bus hit his two-wheeler. Police said he was going for a work in Perungudi when the accident occurred. He was accompanied by Syed Mustafa, who suffered multiple injuries, and was admitted to the Government Rajaji Hospital here.

Youth kills girl

The Usilampatti police arrested a 25-year-old Eswaran on the charge of murdering a 20-year-old girl after the latter refused to marry the youth. Police said that Eswaran was related to Revathi, who had completed nursing course and was employed as an apprentice. Her father was working as a civil contractor abroad. She was residing in her relative’s house. On Friday, when Revathi was celebrating her birthday, Eswaran had also gone there and expressed his wish to marry her, but she rejected his offer. Hence, he killed her with a knife. The relatives informed the police who arrested him.
