An elderly trader, N. Inbamoorthi, 69 , and his son, Kannan, 40, were found dead at their house in Periyavallakulam, which comes under the Soolakkarai police station limits, on Monday morning. Inbamoorthi's wife, Thilagavathi, who was found unconscious at the house, has been admitted to a hospital in Madurai.

Police said Inbamoorthi and his son were running a godown that stocked coriander. The police suspect that the elderly couple and their son may have died by suicide. Soolakkarai police are investigating the deaths.

Assistance for overcoming suicidal thoughts is available on the State’s health helpline 104 and Sneha’s suicide prevention helpline 044-24640050.
