Director Bala watches public grievance day meet

To get a first-hand knowledge of functioning of the system

Popular Tamil film director Bala visited the Collectorate here on Monday to get a first-hand knowledge of the functioning of public grievances redressal system.

“I just came to see how the system works,” he told reporters after spending about 10 minutes in the conference hall, where officials from different departments were present to provide instant replies and clarifications to the queries raised by the Collector after receiving petitions.

Stating that he visited the district to see ‘locations’ for his upcoming venture, he said he wanted to have a first-hand knowledge of the functioning of grievance rederessal system so that he could depict scenes realistically when he shot such scenes in his film.

Mr. Bala watched a large number of people, including women, visiting the Collectorate with petitions, registering them, making entries at the conference hall and queuing up to present the petitions to the Collector.

Mr. Bala parried question on E4 Entertainment scrapping his version of Varmaa, the Tamil remake of Telugu blockbuster ‘Arjun Reddy’, featuring Dhruv Vikram, son of actor Vikram. He also declined to talk about his upcoming venture.
