Differently abled persons get assistance

With the lifting of model code of conduct, the weekly grievance redressal meeting resumed at the Collectorate here on Monday.

Collector U. Sagayam, District Revenue Officer B. Murugesh and other officers were present at the meeting in which public presented petitions. Three differently-abled persons who sought financial assistance to meet their basic needs was granted on the spot.

Another differently-abled person, Senthil from Anuppanadi, wanted a loan to start a self-employment venture. Mr. Sagayam, after examining the petition, directed him to approach a public sector bank in his locality. The Collector appreciated the teachers and headmasters of Government School at Alampatti panchayat union in Tirumangalam union, Myettanpatti Panchayat Union Middle School, Kalligudi, and Karuppayoorani Appar Primary School, who had received best school awards recently.

A total of 330 petitions were received at the Monday meeting and the officials were instructed to ensure that action was taken on them promptly.
