Custody of Udit Surya, father extended


In the NEET impersonation case, the Theni Judicial Magistrate Court ordered extension of judicial custody of Theni Government Medical College student Udit Surya and his father Venkatesan on Thursday. Judicial Magistrate N. Panneerselvam ordered that they be produced before the court on October 24.

Udit Surya and his father were the first persons to be arrested in the case of alleged impersonation in NEET.

The court also adjourned the hearing of bail applications of students Rahul and Praveen and their fathers Davis and A.K.S. Saravanan till Friday.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Irfan, student of Dharmapuri Government Medical College, who was brought to Theni and remanded in judicial custody on Wednesday, submitted a bail application on Thursday.
