The presence of two star cricketers, Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohit Sharma from the Chennai Super Kings, contributed to the ongoing IPL fever in the city on Thursday.

The cricketers were here to attend a meet-and-greet event organised by Aircel for its retailers, dealers and salespersons from the Rest of Tamil Nadu Region which comprises all districts other than Chennai.

“For the IPL season, we had introduced new schemes which included a full talktime scheme for Rs 164 in which the subscriber will be entitled to additional talktime based on the number of runs CSK scores above 164 in its matches,” said Yogesh K., Assistant Manager of Sales.

The event was held to enable dealers and retailers who had performed well with regard to the schemes meet the players and interact with them.

Speaking about the event, K. Sankaranarayanan, Strategic Business Unit Head of Aircel, said that nearly 400 dealers, salespersons and retailers had been invited for the event.

“We try to take such events away from the main centres to tier II and III cities as well so that we capture varied segments. With different contests for subscribers, employees and people working with us, we are looking to expand our reach through sustained interest in the IPL and Chennai Super Kings,” he explained.

Shared experiences

The cricketers interacted with the audience by taking questions from them about their experience at the recent World Cup tournament and also spoke about being a part of CSK. They posed for photos with them as well.
