Commissioner of Railway Safety to probe accident

Commissioner of Railway Safety, Southern Circle, Bangalore (under the Ministry of Civil Aviation) will conduct an enquiry here on Wednesday (May 13) into the accident in which a woman passenger had lost one of her hands after it hit an indication board while travelling in an express train near here on May 9.

A railway statement said that the statutory enquiry would be held at the meeting hall in Divisional Railway Manager’s Office, Madurai Division, Southern Railway, Madurai 625016. It would commence at 11.00 a.m. The passenger, Mahalakshmi (20), who was travelling by Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram Anantapuri Express suffered the injury when her hand hit on the board between Kalligudi and Virudhunagar stations.

Any member having knowledge relating to the accident and matter connected therewith, and desiring to give evidence may do so on May 13, 2015 or write to the Commissioner of Railway Safety, Southern Circle, Bangalore or Fax No.080 – 22260650.
