THOOTHUKUDI

In a faux pas , the Aruna Jagadeesan Commission of Inquiry probing the Thoothukudi police firings, issued summons in the name of a man, who was killed in the firing during the anti-Sterlite agitation.

The summons was addressed to K. Glaston (42) of Threspuram, asking him to appear before the Commission at the Government Guest House on Beach Road at 10 a.m. on August 28. The Commission started inquiring people on August 9 and 10, after receiving affidavits. Ten out of 12, who were summoned, appeared before the Commission.

Sources in the Commission said the summons, which should have been issued to his father, was erroneously addressed to Glaston.
