Lawyers should give their best to render good and quality justice. They should also extend their service to the legal service authority to help those in need of their service, said Madras High Court Chief Justice Indira Banerjee.
Inaugurating the combined court building in Periyakulam near here on Thursday, she said that all should remember that courts exist only for litigants who came to court for justice. “It is also very important that both judges and lawyers keep themselves updated and study continuously to give their best in rendering justice. All senior and junior judges should extend their services to the district legal service authority to render service to those in need of their help”, she added.
“Whether it was a victory or defeat in a case, the litigants have the right to know the reason for the decisions. So judgement should be clear. The lawyer’s role is very important in rendering quality justice. When you (lawyers) have an issue or any problem, these can be easily sorted out through discussions and deliberations. Don’t stay away from work as it does not help anybody. Lawyers should be aware of their immense responsibility,” she advised.
