Carol services at The American College Chapel heralds the Christmas season in Madurai.

The December evening chill on the leafy campus outside and the cosy warmth inside the red brick chapel building exude an ambience like no other.

YWCA conducted its Carol Service here on Sunday evening.

Choir Director Samuel Gnanaraj led the choristers who sang ‘Do you hear what I hear;’ jazz version of ‘Carol of the bells;’ the Rocking Carol - Little Jesus, sweetly sleep;’ May the joy of the angels; besides ‘O Come all ye faithful’ and Silent Night, with the congregation.

The all-female choir was accompanied by keyboard, violin and drums.

The choristers also sang a few songs in Tamil, including ‘Nambinavarkkarul’ by Abraham Pandithar.

Suka Joshua, Lady Doak College Chaplain, gave the Christmas message on the occasion.
