Bypoll candidates declare assets

DMK candidate C. Shanmugaiya has declared total assets worth around ₹1.11 crore, while the AIADMK candidate P. Mohan has declared assets worth ₹2.36 crore in their sworn affidavits for the Ottapidaram bypoll.

AMMK candidate R. Sundararaj has declared assets worth ₹2.97 crore, while MNM candidate M. Gandhi has declared assets worth ₹11.44 lakh.

Mr. Shanmugaiya, who has completed his B.A. from Annamalai University and Bachelor of Law from Bangalore University (Dr. Rammanohar Lohia College of Law), has movable assets worth ₹50.97 lakh and immovable assets worth ₹58.43 lakh. His liabilities amount to ₹17.2 lakh. He has seven criminal cases against him, which mostly pertain to unlawful gathering and burning of effigy.

Mr. Mohan holds a B.Sc. in Zoology from V.O.C College, and has movable assets worth ₹19.83 lakh and immovable assets worth ₹2.16 crore. He does not have any criminal charges against him.

Mr. Sundararaj, who has completed B.Sc. in Geology from V.O.C College, has ₹1.48 crore in movable assets and ₹1.49 crore in immovable assets. There are no criminal charges against him.

The MNM candidate, who has completed his SSLC, has movable assets worth ₹5.94 lakh and ₹5.50 lakh in immovable assets. No criminal charges have been filed against him.
