Babri Masjid demolition anniversary: security up

Police have made elaborate security arrangements across the district in view of Babri Masjid demolition anniversary.

Following instructions from Ashwin M. Kotnis, Superintendent of Police, the district police have made extensive security arrangements here ahead of the masjid demolition anniversary.

Surprise checks

Led by ASP, Tuticorin, Arun Sakthi Kumar, the bomb detection and disposal squad members conducted surprise checks at railway station, bus-stand, markets and a few places of worship on Friday.

“The increased security arrangements will be in place for a few more days,” said a police officer involved in the exercise.
